NEW HOUSE INSULATION

Current Building Regulations state that the cavity wall insulation in a new house
must achieve a U-value of 0.27Wmk or lower. A cavity wall with a 130mm cavity can achieve a U-value of 0.27Wmk if insulated with Instafibre yellow wool. An even lower U-value is attainable if a larger cavity is built. New houses are drilled on the inside. Block and brickwork can be completed at a
faster rate, as no insulation sheets or batts have to be cut and fitted by the bricklayer.
